Dear Fellow Alumni,
We are nearing yet another graduation at Ramapo, and your Alumni
Association is awarding -- thanks to your generosity this year -- two
$1,000 scholarships once again. The only requirement for eligibility from
the Association is their registering on our website (which, as you know,
is free). I will be there to present the awards and say a few words about
us. It is always awe inspiring to walk back into the auditorium and feel
the level of energy from the graduating seniors and their parents. Do you
remember that day?
I must admit, I haven't been to the school since last year to view the
renovations. I would assume, that by now, much of the project is complete.
If you remember, the district received a large grant from the State of New
Jersey to renovate the gym, the science department, build additional
classrooms, etc.
That will be my summer assignment; to go to Ramapo and take current photos
to share with all of you.
Attention all football players who played under Coach William K. Woods.
There will be a reunion of all those players on Monday evening, September
20th, at Rivera's Restaurant in Glen Rock, NJ. Will Anderson, '65, is
coordinating the event. You can contact him at
concorde24@comcast.net for additional information. He has
already put together a video tape of the football films he collected
during that time. Will has also been in touch with Coach Woods and he is
looking forward to this event.
If you are a dues paying member of the Association, watch for your spring
issue of Ramapost. It will be in the mail soon - the printer had it last
week...
Hope all are well. If you have any tidbits to share with us, please email
me at
VicePresident@rrhsalumni.org or Ed
(Pepling, President) at webmaster. You all
know that he is going to retire as president of this organization in the
fall, and we are looking to have someone take the reins - I will continue
as Vice President to help as I have always done, and to keep the
continuity of the Association going. Please let us hear from you.
Dorothy Witowich Gillman '65
Vice President
