President's Newsletter

On Friday, October 28th, 2005, Dorothy Gillman, RHSAA Vice-President and I toured Ramapo High School and attended the Friday night football game against Wayne Hills. Click on the History Navigation link on the RHS Website to review a visual tour of the school, with all the renovations and improvements over the last two years, along with a glimpse of 2005 Raider football...enjoy!

During the last quarter, the Association's day-to-day operations have been running smoothly, requests are handled regularly and annual dues/donations are being processed. There have been five reunions held during 2005:

  • The Class of 1960, November 12, 2005
  • The Class of 1965, November 5, 2005
  • The Class of 1975, July 23, 2005
  • The Class of 1980, November 25, 2005
  • The Class of 1985, April 9, 2005
Our focus continues to be on improving alumni support and scholarship programs by:
  • Posting Class List Updates on the RHSAA website.
  • Currently Class Lists have been updated with Reunion information received through November 2005.
  • Adding new classes: RHS Classes of 2008 and 2009 are now listed on the website thanks to the Betsy Serban of RHS Guidance Department.
  • Adding new members and renewing existing memberships in the Association.
Membership Update

Current RHSAA membership demographics indicate that we now have over 50% of our members contact information, and email addresses for over 20% of the alumni in our database:

  • Total Alumni 1957-2009 = 17,251
  • Total Alumni Address Information = 9,007
  • Total Alumni Email Information = 3,470
  • Current Active Members = 271
Board of Directors Update

At the October 2005 Board of Directors meeting, James Anderson, Class of 1972, was elected to the RHSAA management team as Treasurer effective January 2006.

At this time, Dorothy Gillman, RHSAA Vice-President, and I would like to thank Al Longden, Class of '65, for his support as Secretary/Treasurer of RHSAA over the past several years and specifically for his help in facilitating the transfer of responsibilities during this difficult transition period.

Call to the Alumni

We are looking for alumni who would like to help the Association by contributing their time and efforts to support any one of several key areas essential to RRHAA activities that need attention:

  • RHSAA Secretary Position
  • Semi-Annual Ramapost contributors
